Disney World Ticket Options: Choosing the Best One
Planning a trip to Disney World is an exciting adventure, but with the variety of ticket options available, it can also be a bit overwhelming. From Disney’s Mobile Magic to MagicBands and Key to the World Cards, each option offers unique features to enhance your experience. Let’s delve into each ticket option and explore the best choice for your Disney journey.
Disney’s MagicMobile
Disney’s MagicMobile transforms your iPhone, Apple Watch, or other smart devices into a powerful tool for accessing various Disney services. Best of all, there’s no additional cost involved. With MagicMobile, you can unlock your Disney Resort room door, enter theme parks (assuming you’ve purchased tickets and made Park Pass Reservations), connect Disney PhotoPass images to your account, and make charges to your Disney Resort room.
Disney’s MagicBands
MagicBands are waterproof wristbands designed to streamline your Disney experience. While there’s an additional cost involved (starting at $10 per guest for basic colors), the convenience they offer is well worth it. With a MagicBand, you can unlock your Disney Resort room door, enter theme parks (assuming you’ve purchased tickets and made Park Pass Reservations), connect Disney PhotoPass images to your account, and make charges to your Disney Resort room. Plus, MagicBands automatically add attraction photos to your My Disney Experience account at select attractions.
To order your MagicBands, sign in to your My Disney Experience account on the Disney website. Hover over the “My Disney Experience” tab, and select “My MagicBands and Cards.”
If you already have MagicBands from a previous trip, you can plan to use those. They are not transferrable to other guests, so make sure you are bringing the one that is connected to your My Disney Experience Account.
Disney’s Key to the World Card
The Key to the World Card is a complimentary credit card-style card provided upon arrival at your Disney Resort. While it offers similar functionality to MagicMobile and MagicBands, its convenience may be limited compared to the other options. You’ll need to keep track of the card and present it each time you need to access park entry, FastPasses, photo pass, etc. This can be cumbersome, especially for larger groups.
My Preference: The MagicBand
In my opinion, the MagicBand is the clear winner. Its simplicity and convenience make it a top choice for all ages. Plus, if you already have a MagicBand from a previous trip, there’s no need to purchase a new one. You won’t have to worry about damaging your device or searching for your phone every time you need access to park entry or FastPasses.
If the cost of a MagicBand is a concern, my next recommendation would be Disney’s MagicMobile, especially when using an Apple Watch. While using a smartphone is an option, having quick access through your watch is even more convenient.
Lastly, the Key to the World Card would be my last choice due to its potential hassle and inconvenience, especially for larger groups.
