Everything You Need to Know about FastPass Tiers

Everything You Need to Know about FastPass Tiers

Certain Disney parks use a FastPass tiering system to keep things somewhat fair between guests.

It’s important to know which parks have this system in place, and more importantly which rides are in Tier One.

How the FastPass Tiers Work

At the participating parks, every ride eligible for a FastPass will fall under one of two tiers – Tier One or Tier Two.

Tier One

This is where you will find the most popular attractions. When making your FastPass reservations in advance, you are allowed to book only ONE of these attractions per day.

However, know that once you have used your 3 FastPasses at the park, you can now attempt to book as many Tier One attractions as you’d like.

Tier Two

The other attractions eligible for FastPasses will fall into Tier Two. Your other 2 FastPasses for the day must be used on any 2 of these attractions.

You are more than welcome to book all 3 of your FastPasses from Tier 2 attractions.

**You can now book Millennium Falcon: Smugglers Run (38″) FastPasses for travel dates February 19, 2020 and later.

Starting on February 19, 2020 Millenium Falcon and Slinky Dog Dash will be the only Tier 1 FastPass attractions. All others will be Tier 2!

Here are the Tier 1 attractions from now until February 18, 2020:

  • Alien Swirling Saucers
  • Slinky Dog Dash
  • Toy Story Mania!
  • Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster
  • Tower of Terror

So when you go into make your FastPasses and the app or website is not letting you grab what you want, check to see what tier that attraction falls under.

If it falls under Tier One, check to make sure you haven’t already booked an attraction for that day from Tier One.

If you have already booked a Tier One attraction and you decide you want a different one, do not cancel your FastPass! Instead, try to modify your current Tier One FastPass.

Cancelling puts you at risk for not getting either of the attractions you were hoping for. If you cancel but then can’t find a FastPass for the attraction you wanted, you could go back to try to get the FastPass you already had, and it be gone. That would be tragic.
