Is Be Our Guest Restaurant Worth It?

Is Be Our Guest Restaurant Worth It?

Be Our Guest Restaurant is one of the most popular restaurants on Disney property, making it hard to get a dining reservation for breakfast, lunch or dinner. But what I’m often asked is, “Is it worth it?” Is it worth the time trying to grab a reservation, the cost, my Dining Plan credits?

The short(ish) answer is this:

If you are on a Disney Dining plan, Be Our Guest is a great value for a Quick-Service credit for breakfast and lunch, and it is a no brainer that you should try to grab a reservation 180 days in advance for breakfast or lunch… or both.

On the other hand, this restaurant is not a good value as a Table-Service credit for dinner since it will require 2 Table-Service credits per person.

If you are paying out of pocket, this restaurant is a terrible value for breakfast with its fixed menu prices.

Lunch, on the other hand, does not have any fixed prices and you have the freedom to purchase as much or as little as you’d like. Therefore, it is up to you to make your meal worth your money.

The Dinner value is all relative and personal to what you are wanting. Dinner is a “Character Meal,” and the $55 price tag is average for a character dining experience for dinner.

However, I put character meal in quotes because the only character you will be meeting at Be Our Guest is the Beast (and remember that’s only if you visit for dinner). At other character meals, you meet four to five different characters.

Be Our Guest Restaurant

Be Our Guest is available for breakfast, lunch and dinner. Breakfast and lunch are considered quick-service meals, whereas dinner is a Signature Dining table-service meal.

Reservations

You will need a reservation for any meal you are wanting to eat in this popular restaurant. It’s currently one of only two quick-service restaurants at Disney World that you need a reservation to enter the restaurant (the other being Oga’s Cantina at Hollywood Studios).

Breakfast reservations are available from 8:00am to 10:30am.

Lunch reservations are available from 11:00am to 2:30pm.

Dinner reservations are available from 4:00pm to park closing.

**Pro tip: try to get a breakfast reservation before the park opens. You get to enter the park early, grab a few pictures, eat breakfast, and hopefully get out of the restaurant before rope drop. Even if you get a reservation for 8:30am, show up as if your reservation was at 8:00am. In my experience they have not separated the two. Instead, we have all entered at the same time.

**Pro tip: Mobile Order in advance! When you have a reservation for Be Our Guest, you can place your order up to 30 days in advance. Login to your account, and next to your reservation, you will see the option to “Mobile Order.” When you do this, you will still have to hop in the line to check-in at the restaurant, but once you check-in, you will hang left to review your order with a cast member in a much smaller line than everyone who hangs right and has to decide what they want and place their orders at the available kiosks.

Cost for a meal

The Breakfast menu has fixed prices and is currently $29 per adult meal and $16 per kid meal. This includes the pastries delivered to your table, your entrée, and a non-alcoholic beverage.

The Lunch menu does not have fixed priced. Therefore, you are more in control of how much you spend on your meal. If you want to arrive and just get an $8 bowl of soup, with a free glass of water, feel free! If you are just dying to see inside the Beast’s castle, but don’t want to pay premium prices, grab a reservation for lunch and order something small.

Keep in mind that unlike breakfast, lunch does not include any type of free pastries, and you will be paying for any drink you want to order, both non-alcoholic and alcoholic.

Dinner has a fixed menu with fixed costs. Dinner will run roughly $55 per adult and $35 per child. Your dinner will include one appetizer, one entrée, one dessert, and one non-alcoholic beverage.

If you are eating at the castle for dinner, don’t forget to include the tip as you plan your budget.

I’m on the Dining Plan

If you are on the Quick-Service Disney Dining Plan, you can eat here for breakfast or lunch. If you want to eat here for dinner, you will be paying out of pocket.

For those of you on the Standard Disney Dining Plan, you can use a quick-service credit on breakfast and/or lunch. You can use two of your table-service credits per person for dinner. Your tip for dinner, of course, will be out of pocket. You will not need to tip for breakfast and lunch as it is a quick-service meal at these times.

**Pro tip: Don’t forget that your quick-service and table-service credit includes a drink. Your drink can be one alcoholic beverage if you are 21 years or older. No cast member is required to remind you!

Last thoughts on “Is it worth it?”

If you are paying out of pocket for breakfast, this is definitely not a good use of your money. The food here is good, but not worth the cost you’ll be paying. You are paying a premium price to go inside the Beast’s castle and see the Grand Ballroom, the West Wing and the Castle Gallery.

If you are only wanting to see inside, grab a lunch reservation, and buy the cheapest item on the menu. Remember though, the Beast will only be in his castle during dinner.

For dinner, it’s up to you. Check out the menu and see if it is worth the $55 price tag. It’s a tasteful menu with a decent amount of food per person, in a unique environment, and you can meet the Beast. That sounds like a pretty fun date night 😉
