Dining & Snacks – Magic Kingdom

So you’re headed to the Disney World’s Magic Kingdom, and you just need some help figuring out where to eat. We’ve got you covered!

In this post, you will find a variety of dining options at Magic Kingdom, including Table-Service and Quick-Service options.  We even have noteworthy snacks!

The excitement of dining at Magic Kingdom is found in the fancy meals, like Cinderella’s Royal Table (inside Cinderella’s Castle), Be Our Guest Restaurant (inside Beast’s Castle), or even the Crystal Palace where you get to dine with Winnie the Pooh, Tigger, Piglet and Eeyore.

When you dine at these character meals, you are paying a premium price for the experience, not necessarily for the food, and that’s completely worth it for many people!

Table-Service Restaurants

As for other table-service, or sit-down, restaurants, Liberty Tree Tavern is a great restaurant with food you would find at your family Thanksgiving Dinner.

If you are looking for just a basic sit-down meal, nothing fancy I’d probably point you to The Plaza Restaurant where you will get classic American eats.  This is a fun location because it’s right on Main Street, close to Cinderella’s Castle.

Skipper Canteen has fabulous food and is comically themed to pair with the Jungle Cruise attraction.

Another option for table-service restaurants is to hop on the Monorail and eat at one of the monorail resorts – The Polynesian, The Grand Floridian, or The Contemporary.  Our family likes to do this to escape the crowds for a bit and to explore a different resort.

The Polynesian has one of Disney’s most popular restaurants: ‘Ohana.  If you can get a table here towards the end of the night, you could luck out and be able to watch the Magic Kingdom fireworks from the restaurant.

The Grand Floridian is a beautiful place to look around, and you could eat at the Grand Floridian Cafe there.

At the Contemporary Resort, Steakhouse 71 is Disney’s newest family-friendly steakhouse.  You can get a very good steak here, but with a more moderate price than the signature restaurants that offer steak.  They also have what I have found to be the best burger at Disney – The Stack Burger.

Quick-Service Restaurants

Cosmic Rays has your traditional fast food, but it’s actually good, like angus burgers and foot long hot dogs.

As for quick service, Pecos Bill is great if you like Mexican fare. Honestly, people either love or hate this place.  I personally love it, but I do love good ole, cheap Mexican.

Pinocchio Village Haus has flatbread pizzas that are good. If you sit by the left wall windows, you will be able to peek into the ride “It’s a Small World.”

I feel like I should mention Capt. Cook’s over at the Polynesian Resort.  Our family typically takes the monorail from Magic Kingdom over to the resort to refill our resort mugs and to get the Pulled Pork Nachos.

Snacks

Aloha Isle has the famous Dole Whip soft-serve ice cream, a pineapple flavor. It’s a little tart for me, so I get the swirl including vanilla ice cream.

Close by is Sunshine Tree Terrace where you could get the Citrus Swirl, which is in competition with the Pineapple Dole Whip for Best Ice Creem at Disney.  Personally, my favorite is the Peter Pan Float (lime soft-serve with Sprite) at Storybook Treats, next to the Winnie the Pooh ride over in Fantasy Land.

Sleepy Hollow has another fan favorite snack – the Nutella and fruit waffle sandwich.

Gaston’s Tavern has a massive cinnamon roll the family could share for a snack. Be sure to ask for extra icing!  Gaston’s also has a delicious non-alcoholic, frozen drink called Le Feu’s Brew.

Casey’s Corner is a fan favorite with its traditional baseball game food, like corn dog nuggets, hot dogs, fries, and all the toppings you can add to those.  A fan favorite is the chili cheese fries.

One of my favorites is the Spring Roll Cart right before you enter Adventureland from the main entrance.  They have cheeseburger spring rolls and pepperoni pizza spring rolls.  I know that sounds ridiculous, but they are soooo good!

I hope you find that helpful as you plan for your day at Magic Kingdom.

Happy planning!
