Disney Resorts that can accommodate 5 or more guests

Most Disney resort rooms accommodate 4 adults plus a child under the age of 3 sleeping in a pack n play or crib.

But what happens if you are a family with 5 or more people in your group, and you want to stay together? What are your options? Or maybe you are wondering, what are your cheapest options?

Here is what we will cover in this post…

**If you are planning a Disney World trip with a large group needing multiple rooms, be on the lookout for a new post coming soon.

Resorts that sleep up to 4 adults plus a child under 3

If you are a family of 5 and one or more of those 5 people is under the age of 3, I have good news for you. You can stay in any Disney resort room!

When you look at the Disney website, you will see most rooms “Sleep up to 4 adults.”

When Disney states a room can “Sleep up to 4 adults,” that includes 4 adults plus one child under the age of 3 sleeping in a pack n play or crib.

That’s great news! Enjoy saving some money for the couple years that you can!

Before you jump to booking the cheapest room, you may want to consider the room size. The average Value Resort room is roughly 260 square feet, whereas the average Moderate and Deluxe Resort room size is 330 sq ft and 400 sq ft, respectively.

Although you may be able to fit the entire family with a pack n play, you may not want to.

Resorts that sleep up to 5 adults plus a child under 3

If you are a family of 5, and everyone is at least 3 years old or if you are a family of 6 including a child under 3, then your choices just got narrowed down.

That is if you want to stay in one room.

Thankfully, there are quite a few Disney resorts that offer rooms that can sleep up to 5 adults.

All of these are 2 queen beds (or 1 queen and a sleeper sofa) plus a fold-down twin Murphy bed (mattress is 33″ x 72″) or a couch turned into a daybed. For perspective, a regular twin mattress is typically 38″ x 78″.

Resorts including 2 queens plus the twin:

  • Caribbean Beach Resort – Murphy bed
  • Port Orleans Riverside – Murphy bed
  • Contemporary – daybed
  • Boardwalk Inn – daybed
  • Beach Club – daybed
  • Grand Floridian – daybed
  • Polynesian – daybed
  • Yacht Club – daybed

Deluxe Villas including 1 queen, 1 sleeper sofa, plus a daybed:

  • Beach Club Villas Studio
  • Boulder Ridge Studios at Wilderness Lodge
  • Boardwalk Villas Studio
  • Polynesian Villas Studio

Bonus – these Deluxe Studios come with a little kitchenette – mini fridge, microwave, pop up toaster.

With the exception of the Moderate Resorts – Caribbean and Port Orleans Riverside – all of these resorts are Deluxe resorts, meaning the rooms are going to be around 400 square feet.

This is more square footage than Value and Moderate rooms, but if you have 2 adults and 3 teenage kids, these rooms could still be a tight squeeze.

Also, don’t forget to factor in that all of you will be sharing one bathroom.

Boardwalk in Studio with 3 kids (2, 5, 7 years old) napping on the table bed.

On the other hand, if you have 3 younger kids (or 4 if one of those is under 3 years old), this could be the perfect fit for you!

Resorts that sleep up to 6 adults plus a child under 3

If you are a family of 6 or a family of 7 including a child under 3, you have a few options for staying in the same room – or I should say cabin or suite – before you look at staying in the deluxe 2- and 3-bedroom villas.

Cabins at Ft. Wilderness – Sleep up to 6 adults

The Cabins at Ft. Wilderness offer a cozy cottage feel that can sleep up to 6 adults.

These cabins include a bedroom with a queen bed and a bunk bed. In the living room there is a sleeper sofa.

A bonus to the cabins – there is a full kitchen. Well, almost. The microwave acts as a microwave and a convection oven.

Suites at Art of Animation – Sleep up to 6 adults

The themed suites at Art of Animation are adorable and super spacious with roughly 560 square feet.

They include a bedroom with a queen size bed, a dining table that turns into a double bed, and a sleeper sofa.

They also include 2 bathrooms!

Suites at All Star Music Resort – Sleep up to 6 adults

The suites at All Star Music are…um… in need of an update, but that’s why they are about $150 cheaper per night than the suites at Art of Animation!

They include a room with a queen bed, a sleeper sofa, a twin-size sleeper chair, complete with a twin-size sleeper ottoman.

Plus, they include 2 bathrooms!

Resorts that sleep up to 8-12 adults plus a child under 3

If you are looking to take your vacation to the next level, Disney offers beautiful 2-Bedroom and 3-Bedroom Deluxe Villas. These villas are going to be spacious, offer more bathrooms and a full kitchen.

Resorts that offer 2-Bedroom Villas:

  • Kidani Village – sleeps up to 9 adults
  • Bay Lake Tower – sleeps up to 9 adults
  • Beach Club – sleeps up to 8 adults
  • Boardwalk – sleeps up to 9 adults
  • Boulder Ridge – sleeps up to 8 adults
  • Copper Creek – sleeps up to 8 adults
  • Copper Creek *Cabin* – sleeps up to 8 adults
  • Grand Floridian – sleeps up to 9 adults
  • Old Key West – sleeps up to 9 adults
  • Polynesian *Bungalow* – sleeps up to 8 adults
  • Riviera – sleeps up to 9 adults
  • Saratoga Springs – sleeps up to 8 adults

Resorts that offer 3-Bedroom Villas

  • Animal Kingdom Jambo House – sleeps up to 12 adults
  • Bay Lake Tower – sleeps up to 12 adults
  • Boardwalk – sleeps up to 12 adults
  • Copper Creek – sleeps up to 12 adults
  • Grand Floridian – sleeps up to 12 adults
  • Kidani Village – sleeps up to 12 adults
  • Old Key West – 12
  • Riviera – sleeps up to 12 adults
  • Saratoga Spring *Treehouse* – sleeps up to 9 adults

Finally, if you read all this and you think that having 2 rooms would be better for your family, stay tuned for a post all about large groups at Disney World!

Happy planning!

  • Good morning! Love this blog! Very helpful. What I am looking for is a villa with 4 bedrooms or 3 bedrooms with one room having 2 beds in it. Also are there any with full kitchens?

    • Hi Sara 🙂 I’m so glad you love the blog!

The largest villas on Disney property are the 3-Bedroom Villas. All of the 1-, 2-, and 3-Bedroom Villas come with full kitchens.

And more good news is that most of these 3 Bedroom Villas, if not all, have a king bed in one room and 2 queens in the other rooms!

I hope that’s helpful to you. Let me know if you need a vacation planner to book and plan with 🙂
