Disney World’s Memory Maker

Disney World’s Memory Maker

How bummed are you when you return from a vacation, scroll through your phone for the pictures, and you can’t find ONE picture with everyone in it?

This is why Memory Maker is worth every penny to get all of your friends and family inside your pictures at Disney World.

Memory Maker is a photo service Disney offers giving you unlimited digital downloads of all your Disney PhotoPass photos and videos. It also gives you unlimited downloads to the photos of those who are connected to you as “Family & Friends” in your My Disney Experience.

Photos and videos could be from certain attractions, Character meals, Character meet and greets, or simple pictures from PhotoPass photographers set up around the parks.

What I love about Memory Maker is that it is so easy to get the whole family in pictures during our trip.  I am not dependent on selfies or asking random people to take our picture.

The PhotoPass photographers are not necessarily professional photographers, but they typically snap away giving you lots of pictures from which you can choose your favorite.

At character greets, I let them snap all the pictures while I get video of my kids meeting their favorite characters.

How does it work?

The photographers snap away, and either before or after taking the pictures, they will scan your Magic Band. Then your photos magically appear in your My Disney Experience account, usually within the hour!

Side note: if your kids have any interest in Star Wars, they’ve got to do Jedi Training! There is a PhotoPass photographer taking pictures the whole time.  Then you swing by the PhotoPass desk on your way out of the park and pick the pictures with your children in them!

You can either download your pictures one at a time from the app on your phone, or wait until you get home and download them all at once from your My Disney Experience account online!

How to share your pictures with family and friends

If you have guests in your “Family & Friends” list in the My Disney Experience, then you all can share pictures with one another, even if those people did not purchase Memory Maker.

Open up your My Disney Experience app. Tap the 3 lines in the bottom right corner of your app.  Then tap “Photos.”  Tap “Filter” in the top left.  Make sure that the “View All” toggle is selected, and not the “Only Mine” toggle.   This way, you will see everyone’s pictures!

Know that while all of your photos will be shared, the photos in their My Disney Experience accounts will be watermarked.  None of the photos in your account will be watermarked since you purchased Memory Maker. If they want the photos without watermarks, you will simply have to download the photos and send the desired photos to them.

Price

$185 if you purchase 3 or more days in advance of your check-in date.
